ModZen ("we," "us," "our") helps users store and analyze personal conversation and wellness context. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.

  • Account data (name, email, login metadata).
  • Content you submit (chat messages, uploaded files, generated media).
  • Connected-source data (for example, webhook payloads such as Omi transcripts/summaries).
  • Basic operational telemetry (service logs, request metadata, error diagnostics).

3. How We Use Data

  • Provide and improve the ModZen service.
  • Generate user-requested outputs and memory/context features.
  • Maintain security, reliability, and abuse prevention controls.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

4. Legal Bases (EEA/UK)

Where GDPR/UK GDPR applies, we process personal data based on one or more legal bases: performance of contract, legitimate interests, consent (where required), and legal obligation.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We may share data with service providers that help us operate the platform (hosting, analytics, AI inference, storage, support), subject to contractual safeguards.

6. HIPAA / Health Data Notice

ModZen may process health-related information provided by users. Unless explicitly stated in a signed Business Associate Agreement (BAA), ModZen is not acting as a HIPAA Business Associate for covered entities. If your organization requires HIPAA compliance controls (including a BAA), contact us before transmitting protected health information.

We apply privacy and security best practices, including encrypted transport (TLS), restricted access, and role-based controls where available.

7. International Data Transfers

We may process data in multiple countries. Where required, we use contractual and technical safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms) for cross-border transfers.

8. Security and Retention

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect data. We retain data for as long as needed to provide services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

California residents may have additional rights under CCPA/CPRA. EEA/UK users may have additional rights under GDPR/UK GDPR.

10. Children's Privacy

ModZen is not intended for children under 13 (or higher minimum age where required by local law). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children without lawful authorization.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date.
